Working mothers often complain of an imbalanced diet due to their busy schedules. They ‎are either at work or busy taking care of their children. In which case, doctors advise ‎taking doses of supplements to compensate for any deficiencies and increase the ‎chance of pregnancy or a stable pregnancy.‎

The most important of these supplements:‎

‎1.‎ Folic acid
If you want to increase your chances of getting pregnant, take at least 400 mcg of folic ‎acid per day. It is important in preventing birth defects and distortions, especially in the ‎spinal cord and nervous system of the fetus. Begin taking it one month before ‎conception and continue through the first trimester. The dose can be increased if you ‎have a family history of birth defects or if you are taking anti-epilepsy drugs.‎

‎2.‎ Zinc
Important for the sperm’s health in men.‎

‎3.‎ Avoid supplements that contain high levels of vitamin A or fish liver oil, because your ‎baby only needs a small quantity of it and any increase during pregnancy can hurt the ‎fetus.‎

It goes without saying that you should consult with your doctor about the supplements ‎that are suitable to you. Some of the supplements in the market may contain a wide range ‎of vitamins and minerals that could possibly harm you or your fetus, such as retinol from ‎vitamin A. That’s why it’s important for your doctor to prescribe those that are specific for ‎pregnant women or women trying to conceive.‎
